The Importance Of Rideshare Drivers Leaving A location After Canceling Or Completing A Ride!

With this really short review, I plan on covering the importance of Rideshare drivers leaving the drop off location after canceling or completing a ride. Everyday as Rideshare drivers we find ourselves picking up and dropping off strangers who we barely know. Everyday there are passengers who find themselves getting picked up and dropped off by strangers that they barely know. My point is that when you consistently have two separate parties coming together who don’t know one another, a bad situation could turn into an even worse situation really fast, if a misunderstanding were to take place.

Oh, and misunderstandings arise all the time on the road, especially within a Rideshare drivers vehicle! Even if the driver didn’t notice that there was a problem. A problem that the passenger may have had with the driver or a problem that the driver may have had with the passenger. Maybe an argument or disagreement took place during the ride because of a G.P.S connection issue. I don’t know! Now take into account that same driver dropping off that same passenger and staying around their home once the ride is completed.

Even worse, sitting in the same exact spot that you dropped the passenger off at which was directly in front of that passengers house. You don’t think that would be a problem? Well if you think that this would be a problem, then you’ll also understand exactly what I plan on covering today with this short review!

At #1RideShareDoc, my focus is on sharing not only my story, but also my personal experiences related to this massive, scary Rideshare industry. With thousands of experiences under my Lyft belt, let’s just say that I feel like I would be the perfect candidate to explain the many non-life threatening and life-threatening situations we find ourselves in on a daily basis. Let’s discuss the things that these Rideshare companies like UberLyftVia, and Sidecar aren’t talking about.

Let’s show these companies that someone actually does care about the well-being of not only the drivers, but the passengers as well. Let’s begin!!

This review will be divided into the following sections, for better absorption and clearer understanding purposes:

So What Exactly Do I Mean?

When speaking on “the importance of Rideshare drivers leaving the drop off location after canceling or completing a ride”, I’m basically referring to a driver not hanging around a strangers designated pick up or drop off location once the job is completed. In other words I’m referring to getting the job done and keeping it moving. Better yet, get the job done and exercise that “strong pull-off game” I taught you in previous articles. Yep, that’s what I mean for the most part guys lol!

Sorry if I’m being a little extra.. But to be more clear, what I mean is that the driver isn’t hanging around after showing up and/or canceling on a passenger. The driver also isn’t hanging around after arriving at a passengers drop off location.

What Are Some Reasons Why A Rideshare Driver Might Stay At A Passenger’s Pick up/Drop Off Location?

This really needs to be explained so curious passengers can stop trying to figure out why drivers remain outside of their pick up or drop off locations after a ride is canceled on or completed. I’m actually burning inside to get this information out lol! So without further ado, I would now like to dig into the reasons why Rideshare drivers may sometimes remain at a passenger’s pick-up or drop off location. Common reasons for drivers remaining at a passenger’s pick-up or drop-off location may include:

1.) The Driver Has Another Pick-up: This has to be the most common reason for drivers remaining at a passengers pickup location, especially if the driver has canceled on a passenger. Oh and the same thing goes for the passengers drop off location when referring to a driver still being present. Drivers must remain where they are when another pickup is located at the same drop off destination, which happens a lot!

2.) The Passenger Added A Stop: This happens to be the 2nd most common reason for drivers remaining at a passengers pickup location! So for my nosy folks who didn’t know, now you know.  Passengers add stops all the time! Either while they’re ordering their ride or while the ride is actually being completed. When making stops for passengers, drivers must wait until the passenger arrives back to the vehicle or gives them permission to end the ride for them to head to the next pickup. Or at least that’s what drivers are supposed to do..

3.) The Driver Is Checking The Car: Another common reason for drivers remaining at a passenger’s pickup or drop off location, could have something to do with their vehicle. When you’re always on the road like rideshare drivers are, you’ll constantly find yourself having flat tires, engine noises and other random noises and issues that seem to be non-stop. Periodically checking your car at a passenger’s pick up or drop off location is just one way a driver could go about keeping up with the constant maintenance.

The same goes for the driver’s back seats! Passengers leave trash behind all the time in the back seats without saying anything to the driver. So with that being said, your driver could be simply checking and cleaning out his or her back seats, attempting to prepare the area for their next pickup. Especially if that pickup happens to be located right where the driver dropped you off at.

4.) The Driver Is Using The Bathroom: I think this reason here only applies more so to your Rideshare doctor and not your other professional drivers on the road. I know some of you may be a little shy. Maybe I’m the only one that’s willing to admit it, I don’t know! But yea, sometimes a brother just has to pee so bad that driving off from a passengers pickup or drop off location may not be possible. How does that old saying go, “a man has to do what a man has to do” lol!

5.) The Drivers Taking A Nap: Another common reason for drivers remaining at a passenger’s pickup or drop off location, could have something to do with them being a little sleepy. With all the long hours I’m driving on a constant basis, I can say for sure that I’m one of those drivers going to sleep or taking a nap at a passenger’s drop off location.

Desperate times can sometimes cause for desperate measures right? Oh and what passenger wants a sleepy driver driving them around town? I knew my passengers would understand lol!

6.) The Drivers Making a Report: The last common reason for drivers remaining at a passenger’s pickup or drop off location could be because they’re trying to rate the passenger with a positive comment. The same thing goes vice versa. Sometimes it could be that the drivers making a negative report concerning something bad or unpleasant that may have taken place.

It could be very easy to forget the details when a driver decides not to rate and/or report an incident when it happened. Sometimes this can come off to be a little fishy to the Rideshare companies. That’s why it’s very important for drivers to make these reports at the time it occurred!

What Are Some Reasons Why A Rideshare Driver Might Immediately Leave A Passenger’s Pick up/Drop Off Location?

This also needs to be explained so passengers can stop trying to figure out why their driver is still sitting outside of their pick up or drop off location after the ride has been canceled or completed. Some reasons might have to be repeated since some of them concerning staying and/or leaving relate to one another. Common reasons for drivers immediately driving off from a passenger’s pick-up or drop-off location may include:

1.) The Driver Has Another Pick-up Or Place To Go: This is the most common reason for drivers immediately leaving a passengers drop off location. When a driver has another pickup in the area who’s waiting for the first ride to be completed, having some urgency on the drivers behalf could mean everything to a passenger! This urgency could really make the difference between the driver accepting and completing that next ride or completely missing the next upcoming ride all together!

A driver could also find themselves having another place to be besides having to pick up another passenger. It could be a pharmacy store that’s about to close or a friend that’s five miles away that really needs to see you. Either way, having another pickup or destination to travel to could explain why your driver might immediately have to leave your pickup or drop off location.

2.) The Driver Feels Uncomfortable or Unsafe: Thisreason right here only applies to drivers who have done rides in extremely ghetto or run down areas. I know for sure that I’m not the only one who does this! Once I’m finished getting the passenger out of my car, then my next immediate goal is to pull off and get out of that area as soon as possible. I’m only trying to avoid becoming a product of my temporary environment, if you know what I mean!

I absolutely have nothing against people who enjoy fighting, killing, getting constantly locked up and selling drugs. Just don’t pull me into the mix or make me feel like I’m involved in any way when those police arrive! It is a such thing as being guilty by association right? Even if that pickup was only your passenger. Yea tell that story to the police!

3.) The Driver Has To Use The Bathroom: Now this reason probably only applies to drivers who are shy about using the bathroom inside of their vehicle! When a driver has been holding their urine for countless hours and rides, you can only imagine the urgency that that driver might have once he’s finished dropping you off!

Why It’s Important To Pull Off After Canceling On A Passenger?

Everyday as a professional Rideshare driver, I find myself pissing off a passenger or making them upset due to something that was completely out of my control. Canceling on an ill prepared passenger is one of them! It’s not my fault if the passenger wasn’t ready one time. It’s also not my fault if the passenger didn’t have a child safety seat for their baby, the passenger was an underage minor or was simply too drunk for me to feel safe completing the ride. That all being said, the reason for immediately leaving a pickup location after canceling on a passenger who’s upset should be needless to say.. People do all sorts of crazy stuff when they’re pissed off! One of them especially when referring to an angry passengers, is throwing things.

Another action passengers like to take when a driver cancels on them, is making up lies and fake stories to the Rideshare companies in attempt to get a free ride! So in other words, a driver staying in a location where they previously canceled on a passenger can only make the situation worse. The passenger may even try to stop you from leaving the area in an attempt to get the money from you that they feel like you owe them, since they didn’t take the ride. I’ve been in those types of circumstances many, many times due to not leaving the area when I should have. So anytime a driver finds it necessary to cancel on a passenger, the driver should immediately do so and leave the premises without question..

Why It’s Important For Drivers To Leave After Dropping Off A Passenger?

Believe it or not, pulling off from a passenger’s location is important not just for safety reasons but for some other reasons as well! As a matter of fact there’s 4 reasons why it’s important for Rideshare drivers to leave after dropping off their passenger. The 4 reasons why a driver should leave the area after dropping off a passenger may include:

1.) Adherence To Rules And Regulations: Blocking  traffic or staying in the same dropoff spots in some areas is against the law! Especially if it’s a busy road. That being said, staying in the same spot could possibly lead to the driver being penalized in the form of a fine or imprisonment..

2.) Safety Purposes: Drivers who stop or choose to sit in the middle of the road have the possibility of creating hazards not just for pedestrians, but for other motorist on the road as well. Reason being is because everyone now has to go around your vehicle to get to where they have to go, increasing the chances of an accident taking place. Some people just don’t pay attention!

3.) The Flow Of Traffic: When a driver decides to leave the passengers drop off location after completing a ride (depending on where the dropoff was located), this could help in reducing the amount of congestion which would also allow traffic to flow and move a lot smoother!

4.) Making It Easier For Everyone: When a driver decides to immediately depart from the passengers drop off location after completing the ride, doing this could possibly make it easier for other drivers and passengers to access that same spot or drop off area. Teamwork makes the dream work right?

My Professional Conclusion!

Now as I conclude this short article, I would like to say that we all would agree that safety means everything to not just the drivers, but to the passengers as well! Even if the passenger or driver never took the time to think about it. So if this is the case, why would a passenger or driver naturally assume that it would be okay to hang around someone they’ve just met or a location that they’ve just dropped someone off at? Even if the driver and the passenger were getting along the entire ride.

But that of course isn’t my point. My point is that whether you two were getting along or not, neither party still knows one another. I mean who really enjoys giving off the wrong impression or coming off to be a little creepy? Well let’s just say that it’s a lot easier to give off the wrong impression or come off to be a little creepy when you don’t know the person you’re hanging around or the area or spot you’re hanging  in. So anytime a driver finishes completing a ride, always leave the area. Hopefully I managed to get my point across by now!.

Now that we’re at the end of another review, I want to know what you guys think when it comes to Rideshare drivers leaving drop off locations once a ride is completed. Do you agree that drivers should leave the passengers drop off destination once the ride is completed? Do you think it really  matters?
