What Is Cologne, Body Oil Or Perfume?

Cologne, body oil and/or perfume are all fragrances or scented liquids used to enhance the way a person smells. The scent of Cologne or body oil tends to be much lighter in fragrance and more citrus based, while the scent of perfume tends to be more stronger and long lasting. These scented liquids tend to come in spray bottles and are typically applied to either a person’s clothes or a person’s skin when being used. Women wear perfume while the gentleman tends to wear cologne.

My Personal Top 8 Reasons For Why Passengers Shouldn’t Spray Their Cologne, Body Oil or Perfume In A Drivers Car!

Now that we’ve covered what perfume, body oil and cologne is, I would now like to list my personal top 8 reasons for why passengers shouldn’t spray their perfume, body oil or cologne while riding in a Rideshare drivers vehicle:

1.) Individual Preferences: Not all passengers, drivers or people in general like the same exact scent! So a passenger or Uber driver spraying or rubbing on their perfume, body oil or cologne inside of the drivers car could actually lead to an uncomfortable experience for all those who don’t like that particular fragrance!

2.) Susceptibilities: Some drivers like myself have allergies, especially when referring to strong scents such as perfume! This type of sensitivity could cause a passenger or driver to become uncomfortable or even worse bring on other health issues. Some symptoms of irritation might include having a sniffing, runny, itchy, stuffed up nose!

3.) Concentrating On The Road: Unexpected strong scents can most definitely surprise and impact a Lyft driver’s concentration, especially when it comes to them focusing on the road. This could also jeopardize the safety of the passenger, including other fellow motorist!

4.) Possible Staining: Some perfumes, body oils and colognes can actually cause damage to the driver’s interior of the vehicle. Especially if its a body oil fragrance or if it contains dye.

5.) Pre-Existing Scents: Some Uber and Lyft drivers (myself included!) may already have their own colognes, body oil or air freshener that they would prefer smelling. So when a passenger decides to add more fragrances to the vehicle, those scents could actually clash with the pleasant scents that were already present in the Rideshare vehicle.

6.) Possible Long Lasting Aroma: Some perfumes, body oils and colognes that have strong odors can actually linger in a Rideshare driver’s vehicle, which could affect riders entering the driver’s vehicle after the previous rider has exited. Especially if the upcoming rider doesn’t like that particular scent!

7.) The Driver Having Allergies: Similar to passengers, Uber or Lyft drivers might have allergies or sensitivities and unforeseen fragrances could pose big issues for them too.

8.) Strong And Overpowering Scent: Applying too much perfume, body oil or cologne can result in an overwhelming odor within the limited space of a Rideshare drivers vehicle, causing discomfort for all occupants during the ride.

What Should Passengers Or Drivers Do When Needing To Spray Their Cologne Or Perfume?

The answer to this question is very simple, if you were to ask me. The answer would be to simply spray your stupid perfume, body oil or cologne outside of the driver’s vehicle before getting in. This can be when a passenger is just getting out of the shower, when a passenger is getting dressed or before the passenger walks out the front door. Either way it’s best for a passenger to spray their cologne or perfume anywhere but inside of a Rideshare driver’s vehicle. Period!!

What Steps Should A Driver Or Passenger Take After Someone Sprays Perfume Or Cologne In The Car?

When a passenger or driver decides to spray their perfume, body oil or cologne inside of a Rideshare vehicle, the driver or passenger could first politely ask the other party to refrain from spraying anything else in the vehicle to ensure a comfortable environment for everyone including future passengers. If the scent that one of the parties has sprayed in the Rideshare vehicle is way too strong for the the other party to bare, someone could try opening up one or two windows while turning the air on for circulation.

Especially if the fragrance that was sprayed starts to bother the passenger or driver! If it were a passenger who’s sprayed this fragrance, once the passenger has exited the vehicle the driver could then take it upon themselves to personally clean not only where the passenger was sitting, but also any and everywhere where the passenger may have touched. Following these suggestions could potentially accelerate the process of getting the odor out of a Rideshare vehicle.

My Professional Conclusion:

To conclude this short review, I would like to reiterate on the fact that it’s never a good idea for a Rideshare driver or passenger to spray, rub, mix or pour perfume, body oils or cologne inside of a moving vehicle. You don’t know if the driver or passenger you’re dealing with prefers a particular smell or odor they’re already emitting or if the driver or passenger has an allergy issue that could turn into an even bigger issue if a chemical reaction were to take place. But now you know.

You not only know now and understand what perfume, body oil and cologne is, but you also know and understand now why a passenger or driver shouldn’t spray they’re strong fragrances inside of a vehicle. You know now where exactly to spray or use these fragrances and how to properly remove these fragrances if they were to be used in your vehicle. Remember that using these fragrances can cause a lot of discomfort, mainly involving a person’s nose and their ability to breath. Like I say in almost every review that I write, being mindful is key!
